Asia Democracy Network Launched in Seoul

On October 21 and 22, key civil society actors, think-tanks, and democracy practitioners from Asia met in Seoul, Korea, to launch the Asia Democracy Network (ADN) to advance democracy in the region through effective solidarity and cooperation among civil society groups. The Asia Democracy Network Founding Assembly saw the founding of an international steering committee and the adoption of the Charter of Principles. The discussion of creating the ADN was initiated at the Asia regional workshop during the World Movement’s Seventh Assembly in Lima, Peru, in October 2012.
