Call for Nominations – 2024 Front Line Defenders Award for Human Rights Defenders at Risk
Established in 2005, the annual Front Line Defenders Award for Human Rights Defenders at Risk honors the work of Human Rights Defenders who are courageously making outstanding contributions to the promotion and protection of the human rights of others, often at great personal risk to themselves. The Award intends to bring international attention to the work and struggles of HRDs, providing a greater national and international platform to speak about and advocate for the human rights issues they are defending. The nomination process is open for anyone to submit a nomination of a human rights defender, collective, organization, or community working on any human rights issue and facing significant risk. For 2024, there will be a winner selected for each region of the world (Africa; the Americas; Europe & Central Asia; and Middle East & North Africa), who will receive a modest financial prize, a protection grant, and support from Front Line Defenders on digital and physical security, advocacy, visibility, well-being and more.
