Maria Ressa is the CEO and founder of Rappler, a Filipino news website that promotes community engagement and social change. Ressa worked as a journalist for many years at CNN and later at ABS-CBN News, and later as an author-in-residence at the International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in Singapore. Her book Seeds of Terror about the tactics and leadership of Al-Qaeda, was published in 2003.
