Xiao Qiang is the founder and editor-in-chief of China Digital Times, a bilingual China news website. He is also an adjunct professor in the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Information and the principal investigator of the Counter-Power Lab, a faculty-student research group focusing on digital communication at Berkeley. He researches mapping political discourses in Chinese cyberspace and measuring the state censorship and control of the internet.
